Wellness Bounce Back, Week Routine + Meal

March 30, 2016
For me, March has been filled with many sick days. I was bedridden for all of spring break two weeks ago, and then I paid a visit to the hospital for another illness this past week. Needless to say, I was in desperate need of a bounce back.

The good news is today I finally felt better, and I woke up ready to get back to the gym. :) This post is here for you when you're feeling like you need a bounce back, too! Here's my gym routine + meal for this week/today:

When I first woke up, I had an all natural coconut yogurt and some water; I wanted to keep breakfast light today. After breakfast I got ready for the gym and began a little week program that I found on Pinterest that is as follows-

Monday, abs and arms: 10 chair dips, 30 second side plank, 30 crunches, 30 second side plank (other side), 3 x 25 hip thrusts, 30 arm circles, 10 triangle push ups, and 10 push ups.
Each circuit 2-3 times.

Tuesday, thighs and booty: 20 reverse lunges, 20 lunges, 20 squats, 30 second wall sit, 20 hip bridges, 30 donkey kicks, and 30 donkey kicks (other leg).
Each circuit 2-3 times.

I started today with Wednesday, core day: 30 second plank, 10 supermans, 30 second side plank, 10 v sits, 30 second side plank (other side), and 10 burpees.
Each circuit 2-3 times.

Thursday, leg day: 20 squats, 30 jumping jacks, 30 standing calf raises, 20 side lunges, 20 plie squats, and 10 jump squats.
Each circuit 2-3 times.

Friday, total body: 30 second plank, 10 push ups, 10 jump squats, 20 chair dips, 20 lunges, and 10 burpees.
Each circuit 2-3 times.

That's the plan! Follow it starting this Monday and I can guarantee you that you will feel and see a difference!

As for lunch, I had an amazing, protein packed salad that I made at home.

This bad boy had arugula lettuce mix, boiled eggs, avocado, red beans, sweet corn, and just oil and vinegar for the dressing. It was so filling and protein-rich that I am left feeling good two hours after! (And that's the kind of feeling you should be getting out of your meals)

Hope this post helps you get an idea of the kind of pick me up you may be in need of! Remember- summer's coming! Let's get our bodies ready.

First Bathing Suit Review!

March 29, 2016
I am so insanely excited to say that... SUMMER IS COMING!!

The weather is getting warmer and I am getting more and more excited for this summer to finally be here! I have a lot of wonderful things planned for you guys with my amazing best friend Kate, and I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU ALL TO SEE!

In the meantime, I thought a beautiful day like today would be a good one to post my first summer- related review!

Yesterday I went shopping and came across the cutest bathing suit in Forever 21 for $25.00. This crocheted one-piece is a perfect suit to wear on vacation or to a backyard party; it's meant more for a statement piece than a swimming suit. The glasses I got to go with it are from Sunglass Hut and they were part of a buy one get one. The perfume is Beach Angel, from a summer collection at VS from a few years back.

The trick to getting great bathing suits each summer is starting early- why do you think you can never find these amazing suits you see online? Oh, that's right... it's because they're all gone!

Take my advice ladies, start your collection now! You can never have too many bathing suits. :)

Summer is coming and I am so ready!

5 Napkin Burger, NYC

March 27, 2016
150 E 14th Street, NYC

This was where Gabby said we should go for lunch on St. Patrick's Day and it was awesome. It wasn't the cheapest place, but it wasn't super expensive either; regardless, it was worth every penny!

I got the Original 5 Napkin with cheesy tater tots and OMG I fell in love on sight. The burger was amazing but to be honest, I think I enjoyed the tots way more, that's how good they were. Staff was super nice and the place was very clean. Out of five stars, I'd give it a 4!

Gabby got a veggie burger with sweet potato fries and she seemed to enjoy it just as much as I did, we will be going back for sure. :)

It was definitely a successful NYC foodie trip, thanks for the recommendation Gab! Give this place a try next time you're in NYC!

St. Patty's Day Fun

So now that I've had a second to breathe after these crazy busy couple of weeks, I've had a chance to think about how much fun I've been having. On Saint Patrick's Day, my good friend Gabby came to visit me at school, and we went with some friends to see the parade in the city. Of course we never made it to the parade, but we did look cute, had a great lunch, and a lot of laughs!

My pretty friends Gabby and Arianna!

It was a great day out, and we all had a lot of fun! Hope your St. Patrick's Day was as enjoyable as mine was. Check out my next post for a pic of the great lunch we had. ;)

March Aerie Faves

March 7, 2016
Go green with Aerie!

Since I have been loving Aerie products these last couple of weeks, I thought I would do another product review! This weeks theme is going green.

In the last couple of years especially, juicing has become more and more popular. There's a book for sale at Aerie called Juice It! by Robin Asbell, which gives you tips on juicing, as well as recipes for different juices you can try! It's a great way to minimize bloating, and to get your daily dose of vegetables and fruits.

I thought the Hells Yeah bottle was adorable to either put a juice in when you're on the go, or just a portable water bottle when you wanna reduce your use of plastic. It has a nice stainless steel feel to it, so it's easy to clean and will last a while!

The lip balm pictured above has a great moisturizing formula, as well as a pleasing smell. It doesn't feel too heavy on the lips, and it is great for a base before you wear a lipstick or lip gloss. The weather has been pretty hard on our skin, so make sure you're taking care of your lips.

The last product I included was a cool cucumber cooling mask! You put the cucumbers on your eyes when you have a headache or you just want to cool down, and they do a great job of helping you to relax and to reduce puffy, irritated eyes. Midterms can be tough, so make sure you are staying focused, relaxed, and keeping calm.

Thanks Aerie for all of your great products! More to come soon. :)
